iSelector

Targeted primarily to radio stations or audio broadcasters, iSelector is a brandable Internet radio player that allows users to express their musical preferences and tailor the resulting tunes that are streamed to them. It is offered by RCS and delivers music streams via Activate's streaming media network services.

Based on the RCS's Selector technology which assists radio stations in the scheduling of their content and programming, iSelector is a Windows Media Player based utility that can be branded by an Internet radio station and offered to its Web listeners. While the tunes streamed to the player match the general format of the station, users are free to rate each tune and artist they hear - by indicating that they would like to hear a specific selection or artist more or less often or not at all. Additionally, for especially preferred artists, users may select to hear "deep cuts." The more a specific person listens to the station, the more tailored and personalized their music stream will be as the iSelector utility "learns" the artists and songs that are preferred by the individual listener and delivers results according to their ongoing preferences.

For the station, both visual advertisements (banner ads) and audio advertisements can be included in the stream; with visuals automatically synched to the audio ads where appropriate. Additionally, the CD cover is displayed in a central window while each tune plays; providing for point and click purchasing.
