The CapeConnect eXtensible Markup Language (XML) business server automatically and dynamically generates SOAP XML from J2EE, CORBA, or EJB components. The generated XML can be exposed as a Web service on the Internet. CapeConnect also enables the resulting Web service to be easily customized and composed with other Web services.
CapeConnect product features include:
- No Coding Required: CapeConnect automatically creates Web services from new and existing EJB and CORBA components without the need to write custom or proprietary code. CapeConnect then makes these services available over the Internet using SOAP and HTTP.
- Full J2EE Application Server Included: CapeConnect includes a full J2EE application server and also works with any standard J2EE or EJB server, such as WebLogic. Cape Clear is a worldwide licensee of J2EE.
- Direct Internet Access to EJB Components: Exposed components are visible through existing firewalls, since all communication is based on HTTP and SOAP. CapeConnect removes the need to develop custom CGI, ASP, or JSP Web programs to map components to the Web.
- WSDL Support: Components deployed in CapeConnect become automatically defined in Web Services Description Language (WSDL), making them accessible from non-Java clients such as Microsoft Visual Basic and C++ as well as any other client platform with WSDL support.
- Native EJB Client Support: Existing EJB clients can be deployed with CapeConnect so that they transparently use SOAP to communicate with server-side EJB components exposed as Web services through CapeConnect.
A key new feature of the latest version (CapeConnect Three) is support for UDDI functionality. Additional features include new tools allowing for Web Service communication via E-Mail; and compatibility with Web Services servers/clients built on multiple platforms, including J2EE, CORBA, and Microsoft .NET.
CapeConnect Three is available now, with a price of $950 per developer with additional per-server deployment costs. Contact Cape Clear for further details.
