iPlanet Message Queue for Java 2.0

Communications API For Java Applications

The iPlanet Message Queue for Java provides a JMS (Java Message Service) compliant API for developers, allowing them to integrate messaging features that in turn allow their Java applications to communicate with one another. Formerly known simply as the "Java Message Queue," the new version is integrated with the new releases (v6) of the iPlanet Application Server and iPlanet Web Server, is itself built on the Java platform, and conforms to the 1.0.3 specs for the Java Message Service API.

The message queue provides an infrastructure allowing differing Java applications to communicate with one another in a standardized fashion. Billed as a "Message Oriented Middleware" (MOM) product, the message queue provides management services and support for the passing of messages to and from Java apps within the organization's application structure.

The iPlanet Message Quque for Java is a component of the iPlanet Integration Platform; other comnponents of the platform as of this writing include the iPLanet Integration Server, EAI Edition, and the iPLanet Integration Server, B2B Edition (see related link below).

The iPlanet Message Queue for Java is available now, priced at $4,000/CPU. Contact iPlanet for further information.
