QuickTime Broadcaster

Enables Live QuickTime Broadcasting Over The Web

QuickTime broadcaster captures and encodes live video feeds into QuickTime compatible formats. The free tool can be used to record the content to disk for later view-on-demand usages; or, when used in combination with Apple's QuickTime Streaming Server (also a free download), to broadcast events live over the Internet. QuickTime Broadcaster will support the capture and creation of all QuickTime content, including the newly supported MPEG-4.

Key features of the Broadcaster include the aforementioned record/stream capability; AppleScript support; and the ability to automatically configure the connection between the Broadcaster and the server.

In early February, Apple stated that the release of QuickTime Broadcaster was delayed due to disagreements in the MPEG-4 licensing options proposed by patent holders MPEG-LA. That dispute having been resolved, QuickTime BroadCaster is now available.
