Fully automated database maintenance, monitoring and auditing system for SQL Server 2005. Once setup, the virtualDBA database system will automatically detect existing/new databases and include them in the maintenance/monitoring/alerting routines. It will also detect the removal of databases and clean up their associated routines. No manual intervention is required by the DBA. The virtualDBA maintenance agents will maintain all database/log backups, logical/physical consistency checks, index rebuilds, statistics updates and fulltext catalog repopulations. The monitoring agents include file IO, memory clerks, cpu schedulers, long running or blocked queries, execution stats, index usage, missing indexes, etc. - all of which are configurable and have real-time email alerting capabilities. The auditing agents can log all DDL, deadlock, security and database mirroring activity on a server-wide or per-database basis. virtualDBA also includes a fully customizable reporting feature which allows a DBA to schedule/email the results of TSQL statements in HTML format.
