HitBox

THe HitBox suite of applications allow Webmasters to track and analyze site visitor traffic through their Web site. The solutions range from simple entry level tools consisting of plug-in HitBox banners on selected pages of the site, to full-fledged, multiple module Enterprise level traffic analysis.

In addition to their existing free and Pro versions of the tracking tool, HitBox has announced the devlopment of a complete suite of integrated tracking tools for Enterprises able to analyze multiple facets of customer site interactions. Built on a new technology developed by HitBox that features the ability to track specific on-site events such as E-Commerce transactions, banner clicks, and searches; the suite is centered around the latest version of HitBox Enterprise. The full suite also includes HitBox Wireless (more below), plus the new modules HitBox Commerce (for tracking Commerce related activity such as sales, orders, and shipping), and HitBox DataWise (for linking multiple data sources and providing reports).

Key features of HitBox Enterprise include support for high-volume sites (billions of page views/month), more detailed customer traffic pattern statistics such as which destination pages are the most popular from a given URL, and data export features for Excel, Word, or comma-delimited files. In addition, the latest release of Hitbox Enterprise (6.5) supports the measurment of user interactions within Flash animations; allowing Webmasters with Flash sites to measure site traffic and usage.

The new release of HitBox Professional (2.0) also contains the ability to track Flash content; and can additionally provide real-time information pertaining to Macromedia Dreamweaver developed content, via a Dreamweaver extension.

A key member of the HitBox family is HitBox Wireless, specifically designed to track visitors who access a Web site through their wireless devices (Palm Pilot, cell phone, etc.). The Wireless tracker is able to track the type of devices that access the site, browser version, screen resolution, and many other visitor statistics. HitBox Wireless is available separately, and also integrated with HitBox Enterprise.

The HitBox traffic analysis tool is available in several flavors. The free version requires that Webmasters display a hitbox banner on their site; pricing for the Pro version (no banner required) begins at $24.95/month for up to 5k page views a month.
