Persystent Enterprise is a client/server architecture platform targeted primarily to IT support personnel.

In brief, the platform provides a centrally-managed and policy-driven pre-boot utility that can be loaded on the end-point machines, which has the ability to examine the machine's registry settings and file-level information and restore the PC to a healthy, working state should problems or unauthorized alterations be found. The vendor states that the platform is not an imaging platform; in that it operates at the file level and "fixes" only those components that are broken or removes unauthorized changes only according to policies defined by the central administrators; in this way, the user's personalized settings and files can be maintained. Such policies can be applied at the user, group, or company-wide levels.

The utility executes each time the end-user machine is booted up; and, as mentioned earlier, is able to operate in the machines' "pre-boot" environment. As such, the vendor notes that the utility is not dependent on a working operating system to run. The central management console is Web based and provides single-instance storage of any desktop file across the environment, while the end user utility itself is able to access a compressed image stored on a hidden partition of the user's local drive; enabling it to perform policy driven repairs even if not connected to the corporate network. Authorized and scheduled patches and downloads from the central console will be delivered to the end point the next time it connects to the corporate network.

Other features of the platform include central reporting and monitoring, including files repaired, hardware/software inventory, software licenses in use, and migration planning; and centralized task scheduling, including automated reboots, new application or package deliveries, and migrations. The vendor further states that the platform can be deployed to existing PCs remotely, without requiring a direct visit to the end user machine.
