eGrail is a server-side site management tool that stores all components of pages and produces them as static pages as necessary. Because the pages are not generated dynamically as the user requests them, the vendor claims the product creates sites more friendly to search engines and supporting an unlimited number of templates (since there is no dynamic demand for page creation).
Individual page components are uploaded to the management system as assets, where they are then stored by the software and made available to the rest of the production team. Pages can be created by experts, allowing them to create and design pages in HTML, or by novices with built in wizards allowing for quick page creation based on existing layouts. Revisions to pages are tracked automatically, with users being able to revert back through the last 20 changes to a page.
The latest release of eGrail (4.0) adds a customizable Web based workflow module, allowing for application of a structured review and approval process when publishing new site content. Additional features of the latest release include a J2EE SDK for integration with existing Web applications; an Object creation wizard; and XML-based import and export functions.
eGrail 4.0 is now available; pricing is set per user and begins at $25,000/user (up to 10 users) and proceeds to $250,000 for unlimited users. Contact eGrail or visit the eGrail Web site for further eGrail information. The open-source module eGrail Source is no longer available.
